What. A. Weekend.
We did all the things and had all the FUN!
Friday morning I dropped Jude off at school and Ezra and I headed to Eckert’s in Millstadt for a fun play date with some friends!
As you can see, Ezra doesn’t mind being an only child while Jude is at school at all! :)
We had a ton of fun and can’t wait to hit up the Millstadt farm again to pick more apples and pumpkins! But like can the weather cooperate if we’re going to do the pumpkin thing? K thanks.
We got Jude from school and little buddy must have had a week because he fell asleep on BTR on the couch that afternoon!
Saturday morning we did some work, including BTR breaking down some barrels for an order for a brewery in STL!
After getting cleaned up we ditched the kids and headed over to STL for Schlafly’s Hop In The City beer festival at their downtown Tap Room!
It was such a fun event and the weather was blue skies all around. We tasted some of our favorite beers and tried a few new ones too!
Thanks for having us Schlafly, we’ll definitely be back for this event!
We came home to the boys and got to cookin’ in the kitchen and made these hush puppies. Everybody loved them!
And once the boys were asleep we took those barrels BTR broke down that morning and got to lasering. :) Small business owners basically never sleep if you were wondering.
Sunday morning we woke up, had some breakfast, and then headed back to STL! This time we headed to Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Brewery for the Love Beer Fest!
Now this was the first Love Beer Fest, and I am crossing my fingers they bring it back next year. Next to the Brewery Lights, this was legit the coolest event we’ve been to at the brewery!
Up and down Pestalozzi Street different breweries had booths set up with different beer and activities. When you got there you checked in and were given an RFID bracelet to then load with your money so you didn’t have to deal with cash and cards during the event, which I loved! Then you also got a little card so you could get 4 samples and one full size beer! Can’t beat free beer!
The Anheuser-Busch Brewery is such a fun and beautiful historical place to explore, so we had a blast checking it all out and playing different games along the way!
Jude’s favorite was the giant battleship and connect four games!
But I personally loved the Ms. Pac-Man game! :) I’m always a sucker for an arcade game.
They also had tons of live music throughout the weekend! We heard a few great bands playing, and of course the boys loved the little petting zoo! And I don’t have to tell you I’m a sucker for the stables and Clydesdales, duh.
They offered mini beer pairing meals, but we opted to grab some food from Mission Taco Truck! Because you can pretty much never go wrong with tacos, right? RIGHT.
The boys love taking selfies with me, can you tell? :)
And if you’re a beer nerd like us, that is BCS and BCS gelato. YUP Bourbon County Gelato. I die. And yes I got two samples of gelato because how could I not?!? Don’t judge. :)
So we hopped in the car to leave and my “on this day” photos from Amazon popped up. YOU GUYS. On that exact same day in 2006 I was giving tours at Anheuser-Busch and my mom was on a tour and had snapped all these photos! I know I go on and on about working in the Tour Center in college, but it really was such an amazing experience and I made so many friends and learned so much! Anyway, I thought that was just the coolest thing ever!
We left AB and headed to another brewery, this time to drop of the barrel bottle openers we had made for Side Project Brewing! They had a new beer on draft so we had a pour and then I let Jude have my phone. Which somehow led to these photos and I kinda sorta love them.
#momlife at its finest!
So as you can see, we really did do all the things and have all the fun this past weekend!
Have a great week friends!
