So a couple weekends ago we were wearing shorts outside. And this weekend it was freezing cold. In March. I’m over it.
We started our weekend similar to last, with a fish fry lunch at Cutter’s. When BTR got home from work on Friday he took the boys over to STL and I was able to get some work done while they were gone. One of our favorite “date” activities to do together is to go to beer festivals, so when 2nd Shift announced the dates for Criderfest this year, we knew we HAD to get tickets asap. Well, we must have been overly excited about it, because we got tickets #1 and #2. I feel both very cool and very dorky.
And Jude pretended to play the video game at the brewery.
After the boys went to bed on Friday BTR made fish tacos for dinner and they were sooooo good. We are definitely making them again!
Saturday morning BTR got up early with the boys and they made a blueberry coffee cake for breakfast.
Later that morning we bundled up and headed downtown Belleville for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade (full recap tomorrow!). It was ridiculously cold and snowy so we stayed to see one fire truck and went home to warm up before heading to my Aunt’s house to eat corned beef and cabbage for lunch.
Saturday night we opened a Side Project beer, Open Spaces. And dare I say it might be one of my favorite brews? I really like flanders red and sour, so this was basically perfect.
Sunday with the time change we just hung out at home and BTR did some major cooking on the new smoker. Lots of chicken for lunches all week and pork steaks for dinner that night!
We all went to bed early Sunday in hopes the time change wouldn’t be too terrible. And I guess it wasn’t because the boys went to bed great and they both slept till like 9:15, which is totally unheard of around here!
Also, we woke up to this. Go away snow, you’re drunk.
