I was looking at my post last year for this weekend, and it’s amazing how much is the same! :)
Friday night we decided to use a gift card we were given for Texas Roadhouse. Jude did awesome at dinner and the food was delicious!
Instead of going straight home we decided to head to the park to run around a bit before bedtime.
Saturday morning Jude slept in and I worked a bit while BTR headed up to our church to help set up for Oktoberfest! He was in charge of helping build the stage for the band. Thankfully it held! :)
He came home mid-morning and we decided to head to a nearby neighborhood for a garage sale and we found the deal of the century!
We got that train table for $20!! It looks brand new and I’m in love! It is currently in our living room (which I don’t love) but it will eventually go in the basement once we get things rearranged down there with my business. I can’t figure out what brand table it is, but I can’t wait to go buy some trains for it! BTR had talked about building one, but honestly the cost of screws probably would have been more than $20 so he was super excited about it. So far Jude likes it too!
We went to an early mass that afternoon and then headed to our parish Oktoberfest! Last year was our first year attending. It is so much fun and apparently our biggest fundraiser of the year so a lot of work goes into it.
We enjoyed hot dogs and brats and BTR enjoyed the beer :) while I enjoyed my water and lemonade. Oh and Jude made sure Brandon didn’t leave any of his beer behind.
They have lots of inflatables for the kids and then a few games, so we let Jude pick a duck out of the pond. He thought it was awesome.
They have lots of pull tab stands and a cake walk, but our favorite is the poker stand! If you win they give you a tall boy! We ended up with 2 cans of Stag and BTR was STOKED. No seriously he was!
We went home and put a sleepy boy to bed and finished up this season of Orange is the New Black (finally!).
Sunday BTR woke up extra early and went to brew with his friend. I think they brewed about 15 gallons? They are filling a barrel, I’m super excited to see how it turns out!
Jude and I went to my mom’s for breakfast and she made us pancakes (my favorite) and then I left him there to play and I came home and worked a bit. Jude has never napped at my mom’s before so we thought we would try it and he actually slept for 2 hours for her! I picked him up later that afternoon and we came home to watch football with BTR. Oh and when BTR woke up at the crack of dawn to go brew he also put the meat in the crockpot so we had pulled pork for dinner! My favorite part of pulled pork is making BBQ nachos, which we are having tonight for dinner!
I hope you all had a fun weekend! We have lots of play dates scheduled this week so we are pretty busy! Happy Monday!
