Happy Tuesday friends! I’m doing my weekend recap today because yesterday was technically still the weekend! :)
And I’m starting with Friday, because that’s when our crazy/fun weekend started! Brandon had a field trip to the Botanical Gardens, so we decided to drive over and tag along! I haven’t been in a few years and I forgot how beautiful everything is!
We also went to the children’s garden and it was so much fun! There are lots of slides and a big splash pad. Under three is free so I definitely think we will be visiting again very soon!
Late Friday afternoon we headed over to our favorite brewery for a special beer release. We hung out with some friends on the patio and it was so relaxing and fun to catch up with them!
Sidenote: We got home Friday evening and started unpacking the car and I realized I couldn’t find the diaper bag. We figured out it was most likely still in the parking lot because we were both in a hurry getting Jude into his new carseat and packing the stroller up. So we got back into the car and drove back to STL and there it was. In the middle of a parking lot.
Not sure if this is a fail because I almost lost the diaper bag, or a win because it was still there.
We woke up Saturday morning and finished a few projects and then headed over to STL again, this time to a different brewery! 4 Hands Brewery was having a food truck festival and I invited a bunch of my MOPS moms and their families to join us! I had this amazing bowl called the Flying Pig from Guerrilla Street Food and BTR had a Crab Cake Po’Boy from Completely Sauced. Both meals were delicious! And I was super excited because 4 Hands was pouring Passion Fruit Prussia, which is one of my favorite beers and BTR was excited for Super Flare, one of his favorite beers. #winning
And Jude ran around like a crazy man with his bat. He loves carrying it, so we just let him take it everywhere these days. Happy baby = happy mama. Also, we remembered to bring the diaper bag home this time. #morewinning
Sunday we woke up and went to mass and then our church had its annual Pentecost Festival. We went for the first time last year and loved it. Different parishioners cook food from their native countries for everyone to eat. There were about seven or eight different stands with food samples and then a giant tent to eat under. They also had games and a bounce house for the kids. This is such a fun event our church hosts and we love attending it!
Monday we did more work around the house and then headed over to STL (for what seemed like the millionth time this weekend) to visit Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Brandon’s Grandpa Dale is buried there and we visited last year on Memorial Day and thought it would be a nice thing to try and do every year.
Here is a photo of Jude last year (2014).
And here is Jude this year (2015).
We headed home for a family BBQ at Brandon’s aunt’s house and then came home and put Jude to bed and sat on our back deck for the rest of the night. It was such a wonderful long weekend!
And as of 3:00 pm today BTR is done with school for the summer! We are celebrating by grilling pork steaks and sitting on the deck all night! And tomorrow we are going to visit the Magic House to check the first thing off my summer bucket list! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
And I’m linking up with the Magnolia Mamas for their Share Your Summer Link Party! I can’t wait to join up every Monday this summer!
