What a weekend! Just a quick recap of what went on around here. I’m not going to share the details of Jude’s party yet, I need to go through all my photos first!
Friday night was spent cleaning, crafting, and baking! I of course waited until the last possible minute to finish all the crafts and projects I wanted as decorations for his party. I did lots of work on my Cricut Explore to make a banner to hang and a shirt using iron-on material. And it all turned out exactly how I wanted!

I also decided to be adventurous and make Jude’s smash cake. I was happy with the basic cake I made on his actual birthday, so I thought I would try and be a little more creative. Plus I didn’t want to spend money on a cake he was going to destroy. I was super happy with how it turned out, and yes he destroyed it! I don’t think we went to bed until well past midnight.

We woke up bright and early Saturday to finish running errands. The party didn’t start until 3 so we had plenty of time to get everything ready! We ran to Sams to get the rest of the food and the cupcakes and then I ran to Party City to pick up the balloons. BTR grilled 5 million hot dogs and brats and we iced up all the beverages.

We had the MOST wonderful party and Jude was so wonderfully behaved the entire time. I was worried he might get overwhelmed with all the people and then get cranky, but he did awesome!
BTR and I crashed hard after the party and did nothing but sit on the couch. I had grand plans to get up in the middle of the night to check out the Lilly for Target collection, since it wasn’t set to go live until around 2 or 3 am. I was still awake around midnight so I got online to go through the look book again and see what I wanted. I was tweeting back and forth with a friend and then saw that somehow some items were available on the backend of the mobile Target site. I ended up being able to order almost all the dresses, tops, and scarves I wanted! Then the site got shut down and didn’t relaunch until late that night.

I woke up early and decided to head to the closest Target to see if I could snag anything else. I was there at 8:05 (they opened at 8) and pretty much everything was GONE. I did end up getting an additional dress and top as well as some accessories. I’m pretty sure I’ll end up returning one or two of the dresses once all my orders arrive and I can see how everything fits.

The only thing I didn’t get that I really wanted was the pink outdoor beach blanket. After looking at the Target app late Sunday night I saw that it said it was in stock at my local store. So when Jude woke up this morning I figured why not see if I could get it. I didn’t see it on the display when I got there, but my app said they had it so I asked an employee. He was super nice and said they probably didn’t have it, but he would scan it anyway. Then he said to hold on and ran to the back. Apparently like six of them were still in a box and he found them! I was so excited! And to celebrate Jude and I got CFA chicken biscuits for breakfast and had a picnic in the living room.

I know Target and Lilly have been getting a lot of flak about the release, but I don’t have any complaints. I probably feel that way because I got pretty much everything I wanted, but it really was fun. I ended up making better friends with some JSC girls that also love Lilly and I enjoyed tweeting with my friend Jen in the middle of the night Saturday. And no one was mean or rude at my store.
We have another busy weekend ahead of us, we’re going out of town for a family wedding! I’m a little nervous about taking a baby on a weekend trip where we have to stay in a hotel and have an odd schedule, but I’m sure it will all be fun! And then next week, I’m sleeping.
Before I go, make sure and check out Julia’s post today, it’s a round up of all the day in the life posts!
