Hi Friends!
A little late to the weekend recap, Jude was sick yesterday so all we did was nap and snuggle! We did however have the most wonderful Mother’s Day weekend and I wanted to share it!
Saturday morning I snuck out for a mani-pedi with my mom and it was glorious! I got gel on my hands and I love it so much. I need to make time for that to happen more often!
While I was gone BTR and Jude worked on some Mother’s Day gifts for Grandma’s!
Saturday afternoon we headed to STL to celebrate our goddaughter’s birthday! We had the absolute best time catching up with our besties and their families. Also, they had the BEST pinata treats for adults ever, see below! :)
Sunday morning came bright and early, but luckily I was treated to a beer-mosa as soon as I got up!
Then we read our new book, Daniel Tiger’s, I Love You, Mom. #Imelt
My mom arrived at our house and we headed to STL for brunch!
We were graciously invited by the (#hosted) Anheuser-Busch Biergarten to enjoy their Mother’s Day brunch buffet. And obviously I wasn’t going to turn that one down!
Yes, Jude ate more than just a cookie.
They had an AMAZING spread of food including Budweiser pancakes, an omelette station, St. Louis salad (my fave), pretzels with cheese and mustard (my other fave) and smoked ribs (BTR’s fave). I would highly recommend their brunch, check their site for details for Father’s Day! Thanks for inviting us Anheuser!
After brunch we strolled around while waiting for the gift shop to open (because Grandma’s a sucker and I know two little boys who got stuffed dalmatians). And then I snapped this picture in front of the old area where tours started. It didn’t look like this when I was a tour guide, but man it brings back the best memories! Also, two future tour guides for sure!
Then we went outside and snapped some pictures in front of the cheers wall (sidenote: I totally didn’t realize I found a “wall” like Desiree and now I can’t wait to find more!!!). I’m in love with this picture of my mom and me and the boys, it’s a framer!
And one for the Chatbooks! #rotzbrothers
We got home just in time for naps and then BTR’s mom came over for an afternoon BBQ! We decided to make homemade strawberry margaritas using strawberries we picked at Eckert’s!
We also picked lettuce for salads and radishes for appetizers out of the garden!
BTR smoked pork steaks (my absolute favorite) and we had a delicious dinner on the patio!
And since we still had some margaritas leftover, I decided to make a popsicle! It. Was. Delicious. We will definitely be making lots of boozy (and non-boozy) popsicles this summer!
And I am IN LOVE with the gift BTR made me for Mother’s Day, a new bench for the yard! It has two seats and a table (perfect for my cocktail) and we put it near the play set!
He literally made this bench this week after the boys were in bed every night! I was impressed with how quick he knocked it out! We still need to varnish it, but it’s made of cedar so it should last for just about forever! I heart him. A lot.
I had the most wonderful Mother’s Day weekend with my family, and I hope you did too!
