Today was one of those days. You know what I’m talking about, I don’t even have to explain it. So it’s quite fitting that I’m linking up with Lori from the Boutelle Family Blog and Ashley from Grace Mountain Diaries to talk about “Me Time” today!
Before having Jude, I had ALL the me time in the world. No, seriously. I own my own business and work out of our home and Brandon is teaching at school Monday through Friday. So I quite literally had all the me time I could ever want. Being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom is so awesome and I really do love it! But sometimes I still need a refresh, so here’s a few things that I like to do for me.
Yoga & Barre – I was doing awesome about attending one or two yoga or baree classes a week, but I sort of dropped the ball and definitely need to get back. I usually go later in the evening, so I don’t miss much of being with Jude because he is already getting ready for bed and asleep by the time I get back.
She Reads Truth App – I love this app because it’s so easy to use. I usually read the day’s devotional while I’m giving Jude his bottle and rocking him for his morning nap. It’s quiet and peaceful during that time (in his dark room with the sound machine on) and then I also get some extra baby snuggles in there.
Girlfriends – There is nothing like a good text session with a girlfriend. And text because there is no time to actually talk on the phone. And it’s even better when it’s a mama friend who can totally commiserate on how ridiculous adorable your kid is acting.
Gardening – I love working outside in our garden. We have three raised beds with veggies plus a flower garden. Watering and weeding is seriously good for the soul. And eating veggies from your garden is so rewarding!
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good solo Target/Starbucks trip as much as any other mama, but these are the things that really feed my soul and get me going! What do you do for yourself?
EDIT: You know what I totally forgot to add to this list? BLOGGING! Haha! Blogging is one of my escapes as well. I really enjoy doing it and I’m not doing it for anyone else but myself. I’ve made a lot of fun friends through blogs and social media and I hope you all enjoy it as well!
