Hey Friends! I’m so excited about today’s post, I’m linking up again with two bloggers I LOVE, Arin and Navy, for their summer series! Today’s topic is about self care and what it looks like for me. Make sure to scroll to the bottom to see all 10 bloggers posts on the same topic!

When I first thought about this topic I was all manicure! pedicure! massage! SPA DAY!

And then I was like oh yeah that’s not me. Like at all. I mean would I say no to a spa day? Of course not! But it’s definitely not something I would schedule for myself on a regular basis.

For me self care is quiet time. Grabbing a coffee in between solo errands and just taking a moment of silence. With no one else.
And it’s date nights. And checking out the newest restaurant for dinner and grabbing a drink at our favorite brewery before heading home to relieve the babysitter.

And travel. BTR and I have been planning small weekend trips away from the boys the past few years and I crave that time with him and away from home. Because it makes coming home to the boys even more special

With Jude heading to kindergarten and Ezra starting preschool I’ve realized I’m going to have more alone time than I have had in a LONG time. Okay fine like five years. But you know what I mean :)
I’ve realized I’m really enjoying working on new blog projects and pushing myself outside my comfort zone a little. I was so nervous the first time I went on Show Me St. Louis this past January. But I had so much fun and now I really look forward to scheduling future episodes!
So with my newfound free time I’m excited to work more and share whatever else I’m currently passionate about. Whether it be new recipes, cocktails, what I’m buying on Amazon, etc. I’m just excited for some new beginning!

So for me self care doesn’t really look like the “standard” self care. But it does fill me up and refresh me for a new day. And that’s all the matters in the end.
Here’s a few ideas to take some time for yourself! Some are easy, some require a little planning, and some are a little out of the box!
1. Run errands by your self.
2. Plan a little getaway with your spouse or girlfriends!
3. Schedule your next mani/pedi/massage and put it in the calendar so you have something to look forward to!
4. Take a walk in your neighborhood. This is when I love listening to podcasts!
5. Diffuse some essential oils and play music you love in your house. Don’t forget the dance party!
6. Workout! I always dread working out, but once I finish it I feel a million times better physically and mentally!
