A few weeks ago we were invited by Eckert’s to come to the opening weekend of strawberry picking! And we had so much fun (as always)!
My number 1 tip for picking ANYTHING at Eckert’s is to arrive early and get the first tractor out to the fields.
This way you can,
- Beat the heat.
- Beat the crowds.
Jude knew exactly what to do this year and started hunting for red berries.
And there were LOTS of them! Strawberry season was delayed a little this year from the weather.
Ezra was a little hesitant in the fields, but eventually got the hang of it.
And guess who tried a strawberry this year?!?!? After multiple years of both boys hating them (seriously the photos are hilarious), we may have finally found a winner!
The weather was perfect for picking!
Once we filled our baskets we rode the tractor back and hit up the Strawberry Festival for some rides and snacks!
We also visited the little petting zoo area and saw some cows and goats.
They both loved ringing the bell on this little train. I wasn’t sure how they would do riding without me or BTR, but they surprised us both and did great! And it’s not a trip to Eckert’s without a picture in the big apple!
Thanks again to Eckert’s for inviting us to pick strawberries, we had so much fun and now have more strawberries than we know what to do with! Check back tomorrow for a fun recipe! :)
