So it rained pretty much ALL weekend. And if it wasn’t raining it was pretty gross outside, but that did NOT stop us from having fun!
My BFF from college and her husband are moving back to Indy from California and they stopped at our house on Friday night. Bonus points because BTR and her husband are now also BFFs and have a mutual love of craft beer. It was so much fun hanging out with them all evening and introducing them to Ezra! I’m so excited that they will now only be 3.5 hours away instead of across the country!
Saturday morning we woke up early and headed to STL to the Nine Network’s Public Media Commons for story time with Curious George. Luckily the rain held off and we had tons of fun! Jude met George and it pretty much blew his mind!
They have story time once a month for free, but you have to reserve your spot. I’m so bummed I didn’t reserve the rest of them earlier because now they are sold out!
Saturday afternoon BTR and I decided to have an impromptu date and went to an early dinner at Peel Pizza in O’Fallon. And the prosciutto involtini did not disappoint. I will be going back just to order it again!
Sunday we woke up, picked up some donuts, and drove to STL to go to the swap meet on Cherokee Street. And about 2.5 seconds after we got off the highway exit in St. Louis it started POURING. So we turned the car around and headed home without even getting out. Womp womp.
After nap time the rain had stopped so we played outside in our rain boots.
And we picked some tomatoes out of the garden! Jude pretended to eat one, but I could not get him to take a real bite!
BTR and I made an awesome dinner of street tacos, cilantro lime rice, and guacamole for dinner and started the new season of Orange Is The New Black on Netflix.
Monday morning BTR helped my dad paint some things at the pizza place and I did some random work at home
I was able to get Jude to cooperate for 2.5 seconds and snapped these photos of the boys in their matching Hanna Jams on the Fourth and it pretty much made my heart melt!
This kid cooperates much better for photos. For now.
At the last minute, we decided to head to Mascoutah to watch the fireworks on the Fourth! They have a great little picnic with food and drinks and carnival rides. We walked around for a bit and then actually headed back towards our car to watch the fireworks. I didn’t want to be too close to where they were being shot off in case Jude got scared. But he wasn’t scared and absolutely loved them! And then he almost fell asleep on top of BTR, it was adorable.
Today we are taking it slow and trying to get back into a regular schedule! We don’t have as much planned the next few weeks and I’m loving the idea of taking it slow and soaking up summer with my family!
I hope you all had an awesome Fourth of July weekend with your family and friends!
