This post is sponsored by Eckert’s, but all opinions and love of fuzzy peaches (or toddlers that won’t eat peaches) are my own. #Eckerts
You all already know how much we LOVE visiting Eckert’s. And the fact that it’s less than 10 minutes down the road from our house is just a bonus. We so much fun going peach picking this week!
It’s hard for me to believe that this is Jude’s third summer picking peaches. How in the world is he three? I remember taking him the first time and he was so little!
This is Ezra’s second year picking peaches (the kid has been riding that tractor since he was a month old!) and I’m so excited to tell you that he ATE A PEACH.
Unlike Jude who told me “no mama, peaches are gross.” What am I going to do with that one?
At least Jude had fun picking the peaches even if he wouldn’t eat them! We gave him his own smaller box to fill, and he only wanted to put little peaches in it. And if I put a too big one he would take it out and put in my box. Toddler attitude at it’s finest.
I always say this, but I’ll remind you again, GO EARLY if you are picking. It gets pretty hot out there and waiting for a tractor in the sun is not my favorite. So go early and you’ll beat the heat and the crowds!
Look at that kid! So proud of my little peach eater! :)
E also loved filling the box. And emptying the box. And filling the box. Rinse, repeat.
There were so many peaches on the trees, I couldn’t believe it. I remember when they were so worried about the frost earlier this year and it ruining the blossoms! They will be picking peaches into early August at Eckert’s, but go now! And always check their crop calendar (link below) to see what they are picking and times they are open.
Now you might remember that we just planted a peach tree at our house. But it only has one peach this year. Womp womp. I’m hoping for lots and lots of peaches next summer!
I told Jude to take a bite of the peach and this is the face I got. But I kind of love it. :)
We picked lots of already ripe peaches and a few that will be ready to eat in a few days! Which means we came home with 16 pound of peaches…
I’m pretty pumped to share a new peach recipe with you tomorrow! If you have seen my Instagram stories you probably saw a sneak peak of it!
But back to the farm first…
Once our boxes were filled we hopped back on the tractor to head back in. Jude is still talking about the tractor days later. Not surprised.
Once we paid for our peaches we did a quick walk through the country store. I bought apple butter a couple of weeks ago, but man did I want to bring some fresh salsa home! Should we take bets on how soon I go back for it? :)
I’ve never noticed it before, but above the main entrance to the country store they have a huge family tree of the entire Eckert family!
If you don’t feel like heading out to the fields to pick peaches, you can always grab them in the country store! They have TONS to choose from and they are perfectly ripe!
Thanks again to Eckert’s for inviting us to pick peaches, we had a blast as always!
