So today I want to share a super quick DIY project I did this past weekend!
I bought this amazing chalkboard marquee board and I was so excited to jazz it up with a festive saying.
And then I remembered that my handwriting SUCKS and there was no way I would be able to actually write on it in chalk. Enter Adobe Illustrator and my Cricut!
I used a font I already had on my computer and saved it as an SVG and then uploaded it into Cricut Design Space to cut on my Cricut Explore.
Seriously though, using the Cricut Explore is just about the easiest thing ever now with all the smart dials and software settings.
I cut my vinyl, weeded it, and then used transfer tape to apply it to the marquee board.
And it turned out perfect!
We took all of the picture frames off our bookshelf to put up some holiday decorations so I moved some nutcrackers and a snowman around to make room for the sign. I love turning it on in the evening and it makes the room glow if we turn off the overhead lights.
And the best part is I can just take the vinyl off and replace it with a new saying! I’m excited to use this for all the holidays and birthday parties.

![Boo Fest at @midamericaofficial was the best kind of fall day 🎃👻
Luke was all in on Kid’s Boo Fest while Brandon and the big kids headed straight for the roller coasters. The fall food menu is SO good! We tried the Phantom Pizza and other snacks, and the IV drinks at The Blood Bank were a hit. And it isn’t a trip to the park without a waffle cone! 🍦
We bought season passes this year so we could visit all summer and all fall, and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
🎃 Boo Fest is on Saturdays and Sundays from park open until 6pm. It’s the perfect event for little ones, with their favorite rides, a candy trail, spooky story time, and more!
👻 Want to go after dark? Fright Fest runs select nights from 6pm to 11pm. It’s included with park admission and season passes (haunted houses are a separate add-on) and is geared toward teens and adults. Brandon is taking the big boys to experience it. I’m too chicken! 🙈

Well aren’t you Miss Crafty? I really need to bust out my moms Cricut and play with it more…I do have a 2nd birthday to plan in less than 6 weeks!
I’ve been trying to use it more lately! And you totally need to get on that birthday party planning! JK, I don’t even think Jude is getting a party this year since I’m due a week after his birthday!

I’m obsessed! I actually ordered it from one of my wholesale companies, but it’s a Heidi Swapp Marquee Love product, so I’m sure your Michaels or JoAnns or Hobby Lobby might have them! They have a ton of different shapes and sizes!
