If you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know one of our favorite places to visit is Eckert’s. We normally visit the Belleville Farm since it is literally down the road from our house and takes less than 10 minutes to get there. Well a few weekends ago they invited us out to their Millstadt Farm and I think we established a new fall family tradition!
Photos courtesy ALIVE and Elizabeth Wiseman, thank you! This post was sponsored by Eckert’s and ALIVE Influencer Network, but all opinions, toddler mullets, and plaid shirts are my own. We love supporting local businesses!
I honestly had no idea how much there was to do at the Millstadt Farm. I hadn’t been there since probably high school and all I remember then was a playground. There is definitely more than a playground now!
Between the pig races (yes I said pigs and yes they are adorable), feeding the goats, camel and pony rides, corn maze, jumping pillow, pumpkin cannon, and tractor rides, there is literally something for everyone. Also, please ignore Jude’s hair. His little curls are my favorite even though they are close to mullet territory. And he has a haircut scheduled for tomorrow!
We actually decided not to take Ezra with us when we went. And I had so much mom guilt about leaving him behind. BUT it was so much fun having a mama-papa-date with just Jude. And I think he needed it. Plus it was nice not having to lug a stroller or wear a baby the whole time!
We attempted to ride a pony, but I won’t share those photos because I’m sure you can guess how that went…. This next photo though, oh my goodness, it might be one of my favorite shots of Jude. Such a serious little dude.
There was a sand pit, but I don’t do sand (no seriously I do not want to clean sand out of shoes and clothes and hair for days) so after I semi-tackled Jude as he was running towards it I took him to the straw pit. And then these pictures happened. Which might be some of my favorite photos of the two of us.
See, he does smile! Just not directly for the camera.
I was seriously impressed with the pumpkin cannon. I snapped a fun little Boomerang of it, you can find on my Instagram here. Oh and the view of the city isn’t too bad either. Yes, you can see STL from the farm!
We rode the tractor out to the pumpkin patch and as usual that might have been Jude’s favorite part.
He had so much fun picking out his own pumpkin. It is now sitting on our front porch and every time we go to the car or come home he talks about how he picked it.
On the weekends you can rent out a bonfire site for your group! It’s so much fun to stay after dark and ride some of the carnival rides and hang out by a fire. They also offer haunted hayrides, but that’s not my jam, I’m a total scaredy-cat!
I really wish I had realized how fun the Millstadt Farm is earlier this fall because I totally would have gone more than once! And I think it will be even more fun to visit as the boys get older, there is truly so much to do.
Till next time Eckert’s! Which knowing us will probably be pretty soon! :)
