A couple of weekends ago we headed to Eckert’s for an Easter Egg Hunt!
Last year it was a bit rainy and I was one million weeks pregnant, so I was really excited to take both boys this year! I saw that they had half price tickets the first weekend so I ordered a pair online for the first hunt on that Sunday.
I love going to that first hunt time because it’s so much less stressful and less crowded. Instead of dividing it up completely by ages they let us hunt as families.
Which was much more fun because Ezra is so little and Jude was a little apprehensive about everything going on at first.
But they both quickly warmed up and started putting eggs in their baskets! E was freaking adorable grabbing eggs. He was such a ham!
The hunt is in the rows of apple trees and they had the most beautiful blossoms! I’m so glad the frost we had a few weeks ago didn’t do too much damage!
We also brought our Peek-a-whoo bunnies to the egg hunt, because why not!
And then I tried to get the boys to wear bunny ears. Because again, why not?
After we collected our eggs we did some bike riding before checking out the animals. Jude is obsessed with these bikes they have! I’m sure we will visit many times this summer.
Jude was a little shy with the animals, but I did get him to pet a bunny. Ezra was all about it though!
I held this bunny and I kind of just wanted to take it home it was so cute. Except I don’t think I could take care of another living thing. Because dogs. And toddlers. And babies. And husbands. :)
After petting the animals we took Ezra’s picture with the Easter Bunny, because there was no way we were event attempting having Jude sit with him.
And then we planted some seeds, which we took home and then planted in our garden!
They also had face painting, but I knew Jude wouldn’t sit still for that, so we went inside to ice a cookie! And yes I totally iced and ate Ezra’s cookie. Because I’m a good mom like that.
Before we left we picked up a few of our favorites in the country store (salsa and chips, duh) and then headed to the garden center!
Did you know Eckert’s has a full garden center? Yeah me either. We decided to get some broccoli and cauliflower plants to put in the #rotzgarden since our seeds didn’t come up. I think they were an old pack and just weren’t good anymore. We also grabbed some lettuce plants.
Before we packed up the car we snapped a quick photo in the Eckert’s Apple! Because I’m a sucker for comparisons and I can’t wait to find last year’s picture in the apple!
If you are looking for an egg hunt this coming weekend, Eckert’s is open on Friday and Saturday! You can get your tickets online (which I recommend) and then you don’t have to wait in line!
Happy Egg Hunting!
