So this weekend was a little wet and rainy, but that did NOT stop us from heading to Jude’s first Easter egg hunt!
This post was sponsored by Eckert’s but all opinions are my own. We love supporting local businesses!
We headed out to Eckert’s Farm for their Easter Egg-Citement event! I wasn’t sure how it would be with all of the rain, but we honestly had the best time! Before we got our eggs we got to play with some baby ducks and bunnies! Jude was a little hesitant at first, but eventually warmed up to petting them!
When it was time for our egg hunt (they have them every hour from 10-2) we headed out to the fields!
I actually think we got lucky with all of the rain because it wasn’t very crowded and we practically had an entire row to ourselves! Every kid is allowed 12 eggs and it is separated for different age groups.
We took his new embroidered bucket to collect eggs because I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to drag around the one Brandon made him last year. I wanted to have BTR hold his bucket so it wouldn’t get dirty from him dragging it on the ground, but that didn’t last long. :)
I’m not sure if Jude had more fun picking up eggs or I had more fun taking a million pictures of him. No seriously, I took roughly a million pictures while we were there!
We skipped out on the tractor ride because of the rain, but we’ll definitely get a ride when we go back for fruit picking this summer!
After the egg hunt we headed back for all of the other fun activities! I wasn’t sure how Jude would react to the Easter bunny based on how he felt about Santa this year, but he actually loved him and even gave him a high five!
They also offer face painting and seed planting for the kids.
Next we headed inside to ice a cookie, which we also immediately ate!
And then we wandered around the country store. Insider Eckert’s tip #1: you MUST buy the homemade salsa in the deli and a jar of apple butter to take home. Don’t ask questions, you’ll thank me later!
While waiting for a seat at the restaurant (insider tip #2: download the NoWait App and make your reservations on there, it’s so quick and easy!), we checked out the truck and wandered around the outside patio.
The best part of eating in the restaurant is definitely the fried biscuits and apple butter they give you while waiting for your entree!
I had a delicious BLT with a fried egg and BTR had a buffalo chicken grilled cheese. Jude had his standard chicken fingers which we obviously brought home because he filled up on biscuits! :)
Oh and then the Easter bunny walked through the restaurant and he LIT UP! It was adorable!
We had so much fun at Eckert’s this weekend! If you’re local you should definitely check out the rest of their Easter events over the next few weekends, and hopefully it will be nice and sunny for you!
