Yay! It’s time to share another Day In The Life post with you all! This was probably not my best recording of a day, but there are still a ton of pictures ahead! And thanks to Julia for the reminder and link up!
Monday, January 16, 2017
Brandon – 31 years old
Liz – 31 years old
Jude – 2 years and 9 months
Ezra – 9 months (exactly!)
Ellie – 9 years old
Addie – 6 years old
6:30 am – My phone calendar alarm goes off reminding me to record a day in the life. I take a screenshot and put my phone back down and try and sleep. Both boys are still asleep. BTR is awake, no school because it’s MLK Day!
7:03 am – Jude opens his door and yells for us, his light is green! He’s a little cranky so BTR gets him up and takes him to the living room to give him cheerios on the couch and watch Curious George (also known as “orge”). Ezra is still asleep. BTR says he woke up super early with him (like 3:30 am) and gave him a bottle and he fell back asleep. We need to break that feeding!
7:22 am – I get in the shower. I love taking hot showers in the morning but I never wake up early enough to do it. I really need to work on those New Year goals.
I get out of the shower and put on my robe and wrap up my hair. Put on my Apple Watch. Definitely my favorite Christmas gift!!! Thanks again BTR! :)
Head to the kitchen. Ezra woke up and is snuggling with BTR on the couch and Jude is still watching George.
I make myself a bowl of cereal and Jude a bowl of oatmeal.
I sit at the kitchen table to eat my cereal and Jude and BTR eat on the couch. Ezra crawls over to me and climbs up my leg.
Everyone finishes eating breakfast. Jude lets Addie outside and then back inside.
I make a cold brew coffee that BTR has stored in the fridge. 1 part water, 1 part coffee and yes we store our cold brew in a beer growler.
The boys play in the family room in the truck and BTR and I sit on the floor with them. I snap a picture of Ellie, for blog sake.
I go to my bathroom to dry my hair, do my makeup, and get dressed.
I pack up Ezra into the car and we head out to the pediatrician for his nine-month appointment. We leave the house at 8:52 and arrive at 8:55. The office is literally the street past our neighborhood!
Arrive at the office for our 9 am appointment and wait in the waiting room.
Head back to the exam room and strip the baby down! He gets weighed and checked by the nurse and we take selfies while waiting for the doctor.
The doctor does his exam and we are on our way with a happy and healthy baby!
Head back home and switch kids. BTR takes Ezra inside to feed him and put him down for a nap and I load Jude up to take him to my mom’s for a while. She’s off work for the holiday too!
Jude and I say hi to Mac, my mom’s dog, and then I head out. Jude is a little apprehensive about me leaving, I know he’ll be fine about 5 seconds after I leave.
BTR texts me and says Ezra won’t nap, no surprise he seemed pretty wild when I left him. BTR says it’s fine and I stick with my plan to go to Starbucks. Before I pull out of my mom’s driveway I place my drink order using the mobile app, free drink with stars!!
My mom sends me a picture of Jude playing with trucks and blocks, he’s totally forgotten about me!
I arrive at Starbucks and there are like 15 cars in the drive-thru and there are like 10 people in line. The second I walk in the door I hear the barista say “mobile order for Liz” and I grab my drink and walk out. I love how I always do that and then all the people in like look like they are going to lose their mind. Seriously, if you aren’t using the app to mobile order you aren’t doing it right!
I drive home and BTR is steam cleaning the hallway carpet. He’s basically the best husband ever. Ezra is awake and stalking him and the vacuum and steam cleaner.
Ezra seems crankier so I’m thinking he’s tired. I make a bottle and take him to change his diaper. After changing his diaper I put a little of the Gentle Baby oil roller ball on him.
10:58 am: I rock Ezra while he eats his bottle and then lay him down. He’s out.
BTR heads to the garage to work on his latest project, a kitchen helper for Jude! He’s using his Festool Domino to join it all and it’s turned out amazing so far! I cannot wait for him to finish it!
I wash bottles and then organize all the papers on my desk. Then I sit down at my computer to get some work down. A little bit of accounting, replying to emails, checking Facebook (time suck), writing pitches, updating ebay, and more.
1:07 pm – BTR finishes working and Ezra wakes up from his nap. The three of us head out for a lunch date!
We eat at a new restaurant called the Hop House. Ezra sits in a high chair and looks way too big. Stop growing now.
I have a BLT and BTR has a shrimp po-boy. Ezra enjoys puffs. Everyone is happy and full!
After lunch we head to Menards to BTR can get some screws for the kitchen helper.
We call my mom and Jude is still having fun so we decide to run to Aldi for groceries. I go in and BTR and Ezra wait in the car. Totally forgot to take any pictures until we were leaving, so here’s a selfie! :)
Pick up Jude at my mom’s house and head to his hair cut. BTR and I are both pretty sure this is going to be terrible.
Zero pictures because as expected, the haircut goes terribly. I took Jude in by myself hoping he would behave better for me. I attempt to bribe him with M&Ms but he swats at Kelsey the entire time and cries and whines and I’m pretty sure the entire salon hates us. Also, he sat in my lap and I’m covered in hair even though I’m wearing a cape. BTR did snap this one through the window while he waited in the car with Ezra. The second we leave he starts yelling for “more haircut” so maybe he didn’t hate it as much as I thought? Maybe next time will be better…
We get home and I immediately change since I’m covered in Jude’s hair and we put both boys in the bath!
Ezra loves splashing and Jude loves squirting him. It’s a win for everyone.
I get Ezra out of the bath and BTR stays with Jude. I put a diaper on E and take him to the kitchen to feed him. Probably should have fed him and then bathed him but oh well.
I’m totally in love with our new highchair from 4Moms. I want to write it a love letter. Yes, I’m crazy. Feed Ezra some baby food, he loves it as usual!
Jude and BTR come into the kitchen and get out the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game while I finish feeding Ezra.
Ezra finishes eating and I take him to put his pj’s on. Since Jude has his blue striped #hannajams on I decide to put E in his, because who doesn’t love matching jams?!?!? Stage an impromptu photo shoot in the crib.
BTR gives Ezra his bottle and rocks him and Jude and I go back to the kitchen for his dinner of chicken nuggets, carrots, and a cheese stick. I start prepping to make chocolate gooey butter for my Mothers of Valor meeting in the mornings.
Jude finishes dinner and it’s time for bed. BTR reads him a story and then I give him a kiss and tuck him in.
Back to the kitchen and finish making the gooey butter to put in the oven. Wash bottles, again.
I make myself some tea and BTR comes back in from the garage and he makes a whiskey drink.
We sit down in the family room to watch The Bachelor. I really like Nick but am not a huge fan of any of the girls yet. Also, discover that I can control the DirecTV receiver from my watch. I know, I’m cool.
BTR and I decide we are tired and pause The Bachelor in the family room so we can get ready for bed and finish watching it in the bedroom.
Wash my face and fill up my diffuser with eucalyptus and lavender. BTR feeds Ezra one more bottle and puts him back in his crib.
Get into bed and put my Thieves roller ball on my feet and Aquaphor on my lips, it’s my nightly routine!
Ellie jumps into bed.
Screenshot my activity from my watch, decent but I still need to start actually exercising.
Set my alarms for the next morning, I need to shower before the boys get up. Turn off my lights and plug my phone in. BTR and I finish watching The Bachelor and then call it a night.
DONE! Like I said, definitely not my best day in the life recap, I forgot most of the times and I slacked on pictures, but I’m glad I did it! Make sure to follow Julia to see her roundup of everyone’s posts this time! I’ll be sure to share the link when it’s live.
