Welcome to the next installment of a day in the life! This is the fourth time I’ve documented an entire day and linked up with Julia! Fair warning, lots of reading and pictures to follow! The next call for DITL is in April and since that is when baby #2 is due, I’m not sure I’ll be able to participate due to either being 984 weeks pregnant or having a tiny, tiny newborn, all depending on when this little guy decides to make his arrival!
Thursday, January 14, 2016
Brandon – 30 years old
Liz – 30 years old
Jude – 1 year 9 months
Ellie – 8 years old
Addie – 5 years old
Baby #2 – 27 weeks exactly (in my belly)
7:15 am – My first alarm goes off and I do not want to get up at all. Being pregnant makes me tired! My second alarm goes off at 7:30, I roll around and check the monitor, Jude’s still asleep! I lay in bed and then grab my phone, awful habit, but checking work emails let’s me know if I need to go ship or not.
7:50 am – Finally get out of bed and get dressed. Pop in my contacts and brush my hair. I’m going to shower later so just sweat pants for now, big old bump! Make my bed.
Go to kitchen and feed Addie. Start Jude’s breakfast – oatmeal and sausage. I should eat oatmeal but a waffle sounds much yummier. Put clean dishes away. Check emails and read a few from BTR (we send multiple emails to each other a day #dorks). We’re working on planning for his grant money (more details coming soon, I Promise!) and there was a new press release about it, yay!!
8:30 am – Check the monitor and Jude’s rolling around, time to get him up! He’s happy!! Change his diaper but keep him in pjs for breakfast because he’s been messy lately when eating.
We go to kitchen and on the way have to turn off the hall light, he’s obsessed with light switches!
I grab his bowl and he runs to the table. I strap him in and give him oatmeal and he eats it with sausage and some of his milk. He’s gotten so good about eating breakfast on his own and getting better about using his spoon.
While he eats I pour milk and OJ for me and make a frozen waffle. Add frozen waffles to shopping list (still obsessed with using Wunderlist, and I’ve finally gotten BTR to start using it with me). I might try to go to Trader Joe’s after my appointment today since I’ll be so close.
Eat my breakfast and Jude is done with his. I wipe his face and hands and get him out. He plays with his kitchen and I clean up our dishes and wipe the table.
Ellie is lingering around the kitchen and I realize she needs food, so I feed her and give her fresh water. I set alarms for when I have to stop eating and when I have to drink the glucose and when I have to get my blood taken. Not fun at all!
8:50 am – Doorbell rings, FedEx dropping off the first boxes of the day, UPS should be here later with more boxes!
9:00 am – Finally make a cup of decaf coffee. Take Jude to change his clothes while coffee pours. Try to take a selfie with Jude. Nope.
Walk into kitchen and remember I need to snap a photo for my newest Influenster VoxBox, the Keurig My k-cup. Arrange on kitchen table and take photo. Post to Instagram
Sit down on couch with coffee. Remember I need to stain stick and soak Jude’s shirt that has marker on it. Almost out of oxi-clean, add to list.
Sit down AGAIN with coffee. I have a stuffy nose but Kleenex is empty so I get a new box. Sit down with coffee, again. Remember I needed to start the dishwasher so I go into kitchen. Sit down with coffee – AGAIN. Not sure if my coffee is even hot at this point.
9:30 am – Sitting on couch reading TheSkimm and Jude is running around playing with his kitchen. Best toy ever.
Jude starts banging pots and pans together. Seriously? Obviously I take a video and send it to BTR. Jude brings me his entire farm of little people and the bus. We practice our animal noises – moooo, oink oink, baaa, neigh!
10:00 am – I think Jude smells so I go to change him. Except his diaper is empty? Need to refill his wipes container so I go to his closet. BTR thinks I’m addicted to buying wipes but I call it smart shopping. I stacked my Amazon subscribe and save to get the max wipes with my 15% off every few months then I don’t have to order them on a month where I don’t have 5 subscriptions. Also pampers points, duh!
10:10 am – Doorbell rings, UPS is here! Super early today too! It’s boxes for memory most, but I ordered some art supplies for Jude also and I’m so excited! I might have gone a little crazy by ordering 4 boxes of do-a-dot markers, but when you are buying at wholesale prices it’s totally worth it! I wish I could sell them online, but apparently they aren’t available for online shops and was actually a mistake they allowed me to order them and I can’t order them again. Oh well I’ll take it!
We play a bit more and then it’s time for a nap.
10:50 am – I put Jude down for a nap. He doesn’t whine at all, win!
I clean up living room and head to basement to import new orders from a cartridge launch the day before.
Remember I can’t eat after 11:30 am so I come back up to make a snack. Nothing sounds good but I know I need to eat because I’ll be starving soon! Water, orange, and a spoonful of peanut butter. Poster child of healthy eating… #sarcasm
Head back downstairs and process new inventory that FedEx and UPS brought and import new orders. Ship eBay orders. Send emails to suppliers and place a new wholesale order.
12:09 pm – finished working. Jude is still napping, yay!
Head upstairs to shower. My mom arrives. I dry my hair and do my makeup and put in earrings. Take a selfie.
1:20 pm – Jude wakes up and my mom gets him and plays with him. She takes him to kitchen and makes him lunch.
1:30 pm – Drink glucose and get in car to drive to STL for my doctor’s appointment.
2:15 pm – Arrive at doctors office. I’m early and they let me see the doctor before my blood test since she’s running on time (yay!). Everything is good. Come back in 4 weeks for regular appointment and then the week after that start my weekly appointments (at 31 weeks) since I’m labeled high risk.
Finish with the doctor and then it’s time to get my blood drawn. I love that they can do everything in their office! Go to front desk a the office and make ALL of my appointments till my due date. An NST, ultra sound, and doctor visit every week. Leave office and head to car.
3:10 pm – Run into The Wine and Cheese place to pick up BTR’s Side Project beer that’s on hold. Basically I’m the best wife ever.
3:23 pm – Arrive at Trader Joe’s. So this is what shopping without a kid is like. Take my time and look at everything in the store!!
3:45 pm – Decide to run in the Aldi down the street for milk and OJ so I don’t have to do it when I get home.
Get back in car and drive home, it’s rush hour and there is a lot of traffic. I rock out to Justin Bieber’s new song, don’t even care who sees me.
5:15 pm – Get home and Jude is a happy man! My mom leaves and I lay him down for a quick mini nap. He has better evenings and sleeps better at night if he has a second small nap.
5:20 pm – BTR gets home, he went to the lumber store after work to get some wood to make new samples for the photo shoot we are planning with his grant money.
5:30 pm – I go to my computer to put all my doctor appointments into my calendar. Then I run to basement and process some more orders. No pictures because it’s the end of the day and I’ve basically forgotten I’m supposed to be documenting everything.
6:35 pm – I come upstairs and start dinner. BTR gets Jude up. They play while I cook. Jude is a little whiny but gets over when he sees food.
Dinner is perline pasta with red sauce, both from Trader Joe’s. I also make some garlic bread. Heat up chicken nuggets for Jude, with a side of black olives.
Jude brings me his bowl and wants pasta. He eats a ton of it and makes an absolute mess.
7:23 pm – We finish dinner and I lay on couch, my back is killing me! It’s been hurting more at the end of the day lately, joys of pregnancy! Jude and BTR play with the toy kitchen for a few minutes then we get him ready for bed.
7:42 pm – Jude is in bed after story time and nail trimming.
I put on sweatpants and go downstairs to ship all the orders of the new cartridge that came this morning via FedEx. BTR helps me by packing them while I print labels. #teameffort I send back order emails. Then we ship BTR Woodworks etsy orders. Full mail bin tonight!
8:30 pm – We come upstairs from shipping.
Decide we want to watch Top Chef episodes on the DVR, we love this show. It’s on my bucket list to eat a challenge someday, no idea how to make that happen. If you have connections let me know! #seriously
While watching I scroll through Instagram and Facebook. I was tagged on IG for #widn so I grab my bedtime snack of Oreos and snap a photo of them on my belly. #classy
Check my Fitbit steps. Reached my step goal and went over today, woo hoo because I’ve been slacking majorly lately.
9:50 pm – Top Chef is over. Pack it up and get ready for bed. Put stuff in the dishwasher and turn off kitchen lights. Wash my face. Fill my diffuser and add lavender.
Pick out my clothes for tomorrow for flip and play at the gym and lunch with BTR at Cutter’s. Set alarms for tomorrow morning.
10:05 pm – Get into bed. Addie takes up the whole bottom half. Ellie will jump up later and snuggle between me and BTR.
10:11 pm – Turn on the tv, turn the lights out, and take a screenshot before plugging my phone in for the night. No idea what we watched or what time I feel asleep, but I’m sure BTR was asleep and snoring in less than 5 minutes and I followed soon after!
You made it! Thanks for following along on my extremely normal and not exciting day, I hope you enjoyed it! And thanks again to Julia for organizing the round up! Make sure to check her blog next week for everyone else’s posts, I’ll be sure to share that link when it’s live!
