Ever since we built our house and got married, Brandon and I have always bought a real tree for Christmas. We usually just get one from a big box store that’s quick and easy as this is the crazy season for our businesses.
But this year, we thought with boys being older it would be more fun to cut down a tree. So we decided to take a trip to one of the boy’s favorite places to get a tree, Eckert’s!
We took a ride out to the tree farm on their property and were given a saw and freedom to go find our perfect tree!
It didn’t take long at all, we found lots of perfect trees right away! They are all beautiful pine trees with lots of varying heights to choose from.
We made little saws for the boys on the laser because we knew they would want to take part in the action. After Jude and Ezra “cut” down about 37 trees it was time for Brandon to cut down our tree!
The boys loved watching and waiting for it to fall over!
As you can see we had the best time heading to Eckert’s to cut down our tree. And if you aren’t in the mood to do a little sawing, they have lots of varieties of trees in their garden center already cut for you! Just stop by the Belleville store to find a pre-cut tree.
Now we haven’t fully decorated our tree, it just has lights on it for now, but I just love walking into our living room and smelling the fresh pine needles!
