Confession time. I had never breakfast at Eckert’s until two weeks ago.
I feel like that’s a crime now that I’ve actually experienced it. We were invited to have Breakfast with Santa and oh my goodness, it did not disappoint one bit!
This post is sponsored by Eckert’s but all opinions and love of breakfast buffets are my own. We love supporting local businesses!
With the Santa breakfast, they serve it family style to your table and it’s all you can eat. Yes, I said all you can eat breakfast.
But you guys, it gets even better than that. They have a table set up with cereal and donut holes. Oh yeah and FRIED BISCUITS and APPLE BUTTER. I’m not going to admit how many times I went back up there to get a plate of biscuits for me and Jude.
It’s such a fun and relaxed atmosphere. And then while you are eating, Santa and Mrs. Claus make their way to all of the tables to visit the kids! They are so sweet and spend time talking to each kid. Or maybe your kid is practically hiding under the table when they see them. Or not. #toddlers
Can’t say we didn’t try! But back to that breakfast.
And I promise you Ezra was with us, he just slept the majority of the time. #partypooper
After we finished eating we headed over to the Country Store to find the rest of the activities. But first, we had to say hi to our favorite truck.
Around the store and in the back area they had a ton of activities including making a Gingerbread house! We actually brought a kit home (they even gave us icing!) and we are going to make it this week! But you can make them in store too.
Oh, and this apple butter kit would be an awesome Christmas gift. Just saying…
Another really awesome thing Eckert’s does is the Operation Cookie Drop where they donate cookies to troops stationed at Scott Air Force Base. It’s a partnership with SWIC where if you buy a dozen cookies, Eckert’s will match your dozen. My mom buys a dozen every year!
In the back, they have a face painting area, coloring station, and an entire set up to get your picture with Santa! We obviously opted not to meet and greet Santa based on how our breakfast meet went. Seriously, all Jude will talk about is Santa and Legos, but he refuses to talk to the big guy!
They even had a little story time area!
We explored some of the pre-cut Christmas trees and then decided it was time to head home. But not before we had one visit to “drive” the tractor of course.
Thanks again to Eckert’s for inviting us to Breakfast with Santa, we had a blast and will definitely be making this a yearly tradition. And hopefully someone (ahem, Jude) will even talk to Santa next year!
Eckert’s is having Breakfast with Santa every weekend through December 24. Reservations are recommended, call the restaurant at (618) 233-0513 x 3.
